This homemade skinless Longanisa recipe is made with sweet and savory in mind. This recipe is made with ground pork. The fat from the ground pork balances so well with an abundance of minced garlic, soy sauce and dark brown sugar.

Instructions

Mortar and Pestle to mince garlic
  1. Use a Mortar and Pestle to mince garlic. It is a kitchen must have for Asian cooking. It not only minces large quantities of garlic with ease, but it releases the oils from the garlic beautifully. To get the full flavor in any dish that requires crushed garlic, a mortar and pestle is a must.
Add Ingredients to Ground Pork

2. In a large mixing bowl combine all of the following ingredients: ground pork, dark brown sugar, coarse salt, smoked paprika, ground black pepper, garlic, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce.

3. Cover and refrigerate ground pork mixture for 2 hours.

4. Scoop a couple of spoonfuls onto wax paper. Use the wax paper and form the mixture into a sausage links.

5. Heat the pan or skillet to medium/high heat. Coat bottom with avocado oil and cook Longanisa until fully cooked.

Serving suggestion

Easy Homemade Longanisa

Sweet and savory homemade skinless Longanisa. Easy to make with simple ingredients.

Equipment

  • Skillet or Pan
  • Wax paper

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs ground pork
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp coarse salt
  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4-5 Tbsp garlic minced
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp avocado oil or any cooking oil

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix will
  • Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours
  • Scoop a couple of table spoons onto a piece of wax paper and shape into a sausage link. Do until all of the sausage mix has been formed.
  • Refrigerate for a couple of hours or freeze until ready to cook. If frozen, be sure the thaw before cooking.
  • Heat pan or skillet on Medium/High heat with a little bit of oil to coat the bottom and cook Longganisa sausage links until fully cooked.
  • Serving suggestion: serve with Sinangag (Filipino garlic fried rice), and fried eggs.
